Ninety Seconds

Four trades. Your own. Held for ninety seconds each.

Today

Ninety seconds.

An emotion arrives in the body before it arrives in the mind. Both before it evolves as a reactionary trade or a grounded response. Today takes you out of the head and back into the body to gain greater awareness of the signal before it becomes action taken.

An emotion moves through the body in about ninety seconds. The chemistry arrives, peaks and clears. Any frequency carried after that is feeding a story once told. This is where the ERX lives.

ReactAutomatic and emotionally driven. Taken inside the charge, before the ninety is up, while the body is still running the chemistry.
RespondIntentional and chosen. It can happen fast. What makes it a response is that the decision is driving rather than the emotional charge.

An ERX is a reaction. An ON PLAN trade is a response. The ninety seconds is the gap between them.

Today we bring up four of your own trades and hold each one for the full ninety. The data that arises in those ninety seconds is worth gathering. Nobody else can collect it, accept it and move on from it for you.

One · Movement

Move first.

Movement shifts energy. With intention it may ground and calm the system. Often the body settles faster than the mind.

Start with a forward fold. Let the head hang heavy and feel the weight go down through the feet. Then roll up slowly, one vertebra at a time.

Follow the sequence from toe to head.

The sequence
01
Toes. Expand and contract.
02
Ankles. Rotate, then pedal.
03
Lower leg. Kick outs.
04
Upper leg. Figure four, or knee hugs.
05
Torso. Twist, then side body.
06
Chest. Hands by the ears, open and close the elbows.
07
Shoulders. Shrug, then circles.
08
Arms. Swing, then circles.
09
Forearms and wrists. Stretch, then wrist circles.
10
Fingers. Expand and contract.
11
Neck. Gentle stretch, opposite hand to the side of the head. Then turn the head.

All of it works from the chair. Follow along live or move at whatever pace your body asks for.

The Big Six · lymphatic reset

In this order. Gentle rubbing, small circles or light tapping, about ten times at each point.

1
CollarboneAbove and below the collarbone.
2
NeckThe side of the neck behind the jaw and below the ear.
3
ArmpitAround the shoulder joint and the armpit.
4
AbdomenThe stomach region.
5
GroinAlong the crease of the hip.
6
Behind the kneesThe back of the knees.

Lightly bounce on the feet for thirty to sixty seconds while shaking out the arms.

Go gently. Stop if anything hurts.

Two · Breath work

Box breath, four count.

In for four. Hold for four. Out for four. Hold for four. Then release. That is one complete square. Two rounds at each location, sent there and left to rest.

Ready

Two squares at each location, feet to crown.

Feet and legs Hips and belly Ribs and chest Throat Head The entire body at once

Where the breath feels stuck, sit with it, ask why, try another round of breath.

Notes

Three · The visualization

Your ratio. Your trades.

Perfection lives in the ratio of your trades and their expected value over time. The goal is to have more structured trades taken than emotionally reactive action trades. We are human after all.

A · The equation
EV+ = (SG + SL) > ERX

Hold the equation first. See the shape of it before the trades arrive.

B · Structured program

Use your strategy, your structured program, your plan, your process. Pick or create a trade to visually represent each category.

SGStructured gain

In the plan and paid.

1 · Define it

2 · Why I took it

Hold ninety seconds

3 · The emotional cue received from the body

SLStructured loss

In the plan with the risk defined, and it cost you anyway.

1 · Define it

2 · Why I took it

Hold ninety seconds

3 · The emotional cue received from the body

C · ERX

An emotional reactive action taken from an engaged trigger. An experience, a memory, a thought or a belief created the emotion and was given permission to initiate the trade.

ERXGERX gain

Taken outside the plan and it paid anyway.

1 · Define it

2 · Why I took it

Hold ninety seconds

3 · The emotional cue received from the body

ERXLERX loss

Taken outside the plan in reaction to what had just happened.

1 · Define it

2 · Why I took it

Hold ninety seconds

3 · The emotional cue received from the body

Four · Additional data
A trade

A decision executed in a market.

An action taken A risk defined before entry An outcome that stays uncertain

That is the whole of it.

Every trade is the outcome of a choice and a decision made.
